Redwing
It was a windy but sunny day with some nice bird sightings. I basically recorded all raptors which are regularly seen: 1 Peregrine, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel and 18 Red Kite of which 17 drifted over the Obs from Thornham. Redwing were migrating across the sea with an estimated 10 000 arriving this morning at Hunstanton. At the NOA I counted 51 Redwing in the pines and 14 Jay flew over. Meadow Pipit, Skylark and Pied Wagtail also seemed to be moving and 4 Brambling were recorded. First thing in the morning I had 1 Common Snipe and 1 Jack Snipe in front of the 3rd NWT hide. Later 2 more Jack Snipe were recorded from the 2nd NWT hide.
The moth trap was also nice with a Merveille du Jour and a Green-brindled Chestnut.
