Gift Aid

Please Gift Aid your subscriptions and donations if you can: if you pay UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in a tax year that will exceed the amount of tax that all the charities that you support will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year, please sign a Gift Aid declaration, so that the NOA can reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that you donate. Sponsored Birdwatch

Every year on Christmas Eve our warden and a group of intrepid helpers attempt to see as many species as possible in 24 hours in Holme, Titchwell and surroundings to raise money for in house equipment and infrastructure costs. Support from members often raises over £1,000 annually through this event, which is given a full write-up on the NOA website and sent individually to sponsors. NOA Grand Draw

The NOA Grand Draw is an annual raffle which takes place in January to raise funds for the upkeep of reserves and scientific monitoring of wildlife. Tickets cost £1 each and are available in books of 5, with cash prizes of £250, £125, a third prize of £50 in National Garden Tokens and a range of other prizes. Tickets are sent out to members with our annual report every autumn, but tickets can be obtained from the Observatory office by emailing us at info@noa.org.uk or calling on 01485 525406.

Used stamps wanted

Please save any used stamps you may have, as we can use them to generate funds to support our work. Where feasible, please leave a margin of about a centimetre around the stamp when cutting it from the envelope. If you have stamps, either drop them into the Observatory or pop them in the post. If sending by post, please check postage rates before sending (weight and dimensions apply), as incorrect postage can significantly exceed the value of the stamps enclosed. THANKYOU!

Give As You Live

If you use online shopping, you may also be interested in the Give as you Live scheme , which pays a small commission to your chosen charity. Participants in the scheme vary from time to time, and include major retailers, travel companies, hotel chains – the list is seemingly endless. To ensure that the commission on your purchases comes to the NOA, you will need to sign up to Give as you Live, if you haven’t already done so, and then log in. If invited to choose a cause, you can find us by searching for “NOA” you can view our page at Give as you Live here . A example of the kind of offerings from the Give as you Live scheme is Give as you Switch, where switching your energy supplier could raise a donation for the NOA of up to £150.
