A really strong south westerly breeze at the Obs today and sadly much too windy for ringing. It was another quiet day for bird sightings generally. Highlights from wader/tern counts on the beach towards Thornham Channel included 300 Sandwich Tern, 7 Common Tern, 41 Bar-tailed Godwit, 74 Oystercatcher, 7 Turnstone and 1 Knot. There were at least 30 Swift feeding over the grazing marsh in the afternoon which was a lovely sight.
