Small Mottled Willow

As promised, here is the full list of the moths from yesterday 9/6/26

8 Large Yellow Underwing, 3 Cinnabar, 5 Bordered White, 2 Buff Ermine, 2 Notocela sp., 1 Common Wainscot, 3 Mottled Rustic, 1 Celypha lacunana, 1 Eyed Hawk Moth, 1 White Ermine, 1 Common Swift, 1 Heart and Dart, 1 Isotrias rectifasciana, 2 Crambus pascuella, 1 Piniphilia bifasciana, 1 Pine Marble, 1 Straw Barred Pearl, 1 Cnepharia sp, 1 Brown Rustic

Today’s moths: 1 Chrysoteuchia culmella, 1 Isotrias rectifasciana, 5 Ramshorn Bagworm (Luffia lappidella) with larva, 2 Cinnabar, 1 Blastobasis lacticolella, 1 Small Mottled Willow (Spodoptera exigua, also called Beet Armyworm), Striped Wainscot, 1 Hook-streak Grass-veneer (Crambus lathoniellus), 1 Sand Dart, 4 Mottled Rustic, 4 Large Yellow Underwing, 1 White Ermine, 1 Brown Rustic, 1 Vine’s Rustic, 1 Acompsia cinerella

The Small Mottled Rustic is interesting as it is an immigrant.

On the bird front it’s quiet with 1 Lesser Whitethroat,  1 Sandwich Tern (flying over the Obs), 3 Blackcap,4 Spoonbill and 3 Buzzard the best sightings.
