Pale Prominent

It felt rather autumnal this morning as it was windy, cold and damp.

The best bird sightings were 2 Crossbill in the pines, 2 Razorbill, 3 Gannet, 1 Great Crested Grebe on the sea and 3 Sanderling on the beach. There were again lots of Swifts, Sand Martin, Swallows and House Martin feeding over the Obs.

The moth trap contained: 1 Common Swift, 6 White Ermine, 1 Brimstone, 2 Scoparia ambigualis, 3 Sand Dart, 1 Bramble Shoot Moth, 1 Treble Lines, 1 Marbled Minor arg., 7 Mottled Rustic, 10 Large Yellow Underwing, 4 Setaceous Hebrew Character, 1 Diamond-back Moth, 1 Heart and Dart, 2 Oxypterix wilkiella, 1 Pale Prominent, 2 Crambus lathoniellus, 1 Dark Arches, 1 Buff-tip, 3 Vine’s Rustic, 1 Marbled White Spot, 1 Common Footman, 1 Bordered White, 1 Silver Y, 1 Yellow Bell.

The Lepidoptera seen outside the moth trap were: 2 White Ermine, 1 Brimstone, 1 Red Admiral, 4 Painted Lady, 2 Wall Brown
