Blackcap
A good couple of busy days ringing at Walsey Hills. On Friday the numbers were dominated by Blue Tit with 34 birds captured but 1 Reed Warbler, 9 Chiffchaff and 9 Goldcrest were a nice bonus. On Saturday, 16 Goldcrest, 5 Chiffchaff and 6 Blackcap were the highlights. No Yellow-browed Warbler yet!!
A male Pallid Harrier, a first for the Cley square, was first seen flying over Walsey and then was relocated to one of the fields at the southern edge of Walsey which then flew past Walsey over Snipe’s Marsh. On both occasions despite running out the bunker we missed it!!
** the first number is new individuals and the number in brackets is retraps (birds already ringed by me on a previous occasion)
