On the sea today a great Crested Grebe, 14 Sandwich Terns, a Little Tern, Kittiwake, 7 Common Scoter, 3 Arctic Skuas and 7 Gannets were recorded. Around the Broadwater 4 Common Sandpipers, a Kingfisher, 20 Black-tailed Godwits and 3 Avocets were of note, with 5 Stonechats in the dunes and 2 Lesser Whitethroats on the NOA reserve.

In the moth traps 5 Nutmegs, 10 Archer’s Darts, a Sallow Kitten, 2 Ferns, an Angle-barred Pug, Frosted Orange, Chinese Character, 6 Rosy Footmen, 13 Turnips, 2 Dingy Footmen, 2 Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwings, 15 Vine’s Rustics, 7 Common Wainscots, 16 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a Sharp-angled Peacock, a Straw Underwing, 2 Large Yellow Underwings, 7 White Points, a Ringed China-mark, Orange Swift 4 Flame Shoulder, a Scarce Footman, 3 Shuttle-shaped Dart, Saltmarsh Plume, Light Brown Apple Moth, 3 Flounced Rustics, a Rosy Rustic, Six-striped Rustic, 3 Drinkers, and a single Dotted Wave were caught.

A Humming-bird Hawk Moth and a Painted Lady were on the buddleias, and Small Copper, Green-veined White and Red Admiral were also recorded.
