Walsey Hills
for as little as 14p per day.
30th October 2026

It was a lovely still morning at Walsey, with some mist lingering over the marshes first thing. We were up bright and early to get on site at Walsey for some ringing, as we were running a ringing demo for the Norfolk Wildlife Trust Youth Group. The demo was a success with lots of nice species to show the group. We covered the importance of ringing, what we learn from it, how we catch and process birds, ageing, moult strategies and also generally the work of the NOA.
Our ringing totals for the day are below. The highlight of the day was a stunning Firecrest! This is our third one of the year for Walsey and only our 10th ringing record ever. We also caught a lovely young Brambling.
