Snipe – E Stubbings

It was a wet and windy morning that was followed by a, still windy, but sunny and warm afternoon.

Our bird highlights today were: 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Snipe, 2 Greenshank, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 100+ House Martin. A 10-minute sea watch resulted in: 12 Sandwich Tern, 7 Common Tern, 1 Red-throated Diver, 1 Great-crested Grebe.

The moth trap contained: 2 Rush Veneer, 2 Brimstone, 14 Square-spot Rustic, 20 Large-yellow Underwing, 4 Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 2 Frosted Orange, 3 Beet Moth, 1 Turnip, 2 Setaceous Hebrew Character, 1 Yellow Tail, 3 Small Mottled Willow, 1 Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 3 Lunar Underwing, 1 Delicate, 1 Willow Beauty, 3 Small Dusty Wave, 1 Shore Wainscot, 1 White Line Dart, 1 Chevron Grass Moth.

Other insects: 1 Red Admiral, 2 Small Heath, 40 Small White, 10 Wall, 3 Speckled Wood, 4 Migrant Hawker, 20 Common Darter.
