It was a breezy day, with winds blowing from the south-east, creating a sense of anticipation that something special might turn up.

Our bird highlights of today are: 1 Pied Flycatcher and 1 Willow Warbler in scrub at the west end of pines, 2 Wheatear in the Dunes, 2 Knot, 118 Oystercatcher, 27 Curlew, 10 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Sanderling on the beach, another 25 Curlew and 2 Great White flying over Broadwater, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 8 Dunlin and 1 Spoonbill on Broadwater.

Today’s moths:  12 Archer’s Dart, 3 Vine’s Rustic, 7 Flounced Rustic, 1 Lime-speck Pug, 1 Square-spot Rustic. I also had 1 Common Bluetail Damselfly in the office.
