Another cool, overcast morning felt more like autumn than summer, with 1 Blackbird and 1 Song Thrush hanging around the Obs and 1 Robin ticking.

Our moths of today:

1 Poplar Hawk moth, 1 Ermine agg, 22 Uncertain agg, 1 Brown Tail, 1 Scalloped Oak, 1 Shore Knot-horn, 3 Garden Tiger, 3 Cloaked Minor, 1 Brown Moss Moth, 3 Large Yellow Underwing, 3 Eudonia sp., 1 Rosy Footman, 2 Archer’s Dart, 2 Sharp-angled Peacock, 3 Drinker, 4 Scarce Footman, 1 Beautiful Hook Tip, 1 Common Groundling, 1 Common Zebra Moth, 2 Pine Leaf-mining Moth, 1 Small Mottled Willow, 1 Brown-line Bright-eye, 2 Dingy Footman, 1 Single-dotted Wave, 2 Pearl Grass Moth, 1 Yellow Tail, 1 Large Pale Masoner, 2 Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 1 Common Rustic, 1 Bryotropha terrella, 1 Breckland Plume

We also had 1 Hummingbird Hawk Moth around the Obs and recorded 15 Gatekeeper, 2 Admiral, 3 Wall, 4 Meadow Brown, 2 White sp.

Our bird highlights are: 1 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, 1 Great White Egret flying past the Obs, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 38 Redshank, 3 Common Sandpiper and 2 Dunlin on Broadwater, 35 Cormorants flying over. Also 1 Arctic Skua on the sea.
