The day started cloudy and cool but soon became rather warm.

Our moth trap from last night yielded: 2 Garden Grey, 1 Early Thorn, 1 Archer’s Dart, 3 Common Rustic agg., 4 Large Yellow Underwing, 3 Scarce Footman, 1 Pine Knot-horn, 10 Uncertain agg. 1 Pine Marble, 1 Diamond Back Moth, 3 Turnip, 1 Hawthorn Knot-horn, 2 Common Maisoner, 2 Black-fronted Straw, 1 Orange Pine Tortrix, 2 Garden Tiger, 1 Pearl Grass Moth, 1 Chinese Character, 1 Single-dotted Wave, 1 Smokey Wainscot, 1 Latticed Heath, 1 Least Yellow Underwing, 1 Pine Leaf Mining Moth, 1 Blackthorn Knot-horn, 1 Least Carpet.

We also counted: 25 Gatekeeper, 2 Wall, 1 White sp. 10 Meadow Brown and 1 Clouded Yellow.

Today bird highlights were: 15 Lapwing, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 25 Common Redshank, 1 Common Gull and 6 Spoonbill, 1 Bearded Tit on Broadwater; 1 Green Sandpiper and 1 Sandwich Tern flying over. 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Great-spotted Woodpecker, 3 Crossbill in the Pines.

There was also a flock of 180 Black-tailed Godwit flying along the beach over the dunes, 6 Little Egret on Lavender Marsh and 1 Sparrow Hawk.
