Another day of pretty strong southerlies meant we were unable to do any ringing again today, but there was a really good mix of species on the sea/beach with 2 Slavonian Grebe, 17 Great Crested Grebe, 23 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Velvet Scoter, 1 Purple Sandpiper, 3 Snow Bunting (Gore Point), 2 Red-throated Diver, 20 Common Scoter, 1 Razorbill, 1 Red-necked Grebe, 2 Black-throated Diver and 3 Great Northern Diver!

At least 2 Crossbill and a Firecrest around the pines this morning. A Jack Snipe was found from the first NWT hide with the NOA thermal camera but was very difficult to spot without it!

I am now on annual leave for a month until Monday 15^th December so leave the Observatory in the hands of Molly for the next 4 weeks!
