A breezy and overcast day, a Great White Egret was at the back of the marsh and a flock of 26 Avocets was around the Broadwater.
In the moth traps today 3 Uncertains,6 Common Footmen, 4 Garden Grass Moths, an Oak Eggar, 6 Scarce Footmen, 12 Rustics, a Dark Arches, 8 Ruby Tigers, 8 Smoky Wainscots, 2 Mottled Rustics, 4 Large Yellow Underwings, Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, a Peppered Moth, a Poplar Hawk, 2 Brown Tails, a Shore Wainscot, a Silver Y, a Common Wainscot, a Least Yellow Underwing, Common Rustic, Platytes alpinella, Archer’s Dart, Early Thorn, a Bright-line Brown-eye, and a Humming-bird Hawk Moth was around the reserve.
Butterflies included Peacock, 10+ Small Whites, 2 Large Whites, a Comma and 4 Meadow Browns. A Four-spotted Chaser was also of interest.
