Muslin

A strong northerly today. First thing we had a lot of House Martin hanging around the NWT house and over the Broad Water which was lovely to see as we haven’t seen many this year yet. One Common Sandpiper was doing the rounds along the Broad Water. Two Whimbrel flew over the grazing marsh followed by two Peregrine in the afternoon.

We done a morning seawatch which wasn’t very pleasant with the brisk northerly wind even with being partly sheltered in the hide. We had 18 Little Tern all going east, 1 Swift in off west, 2 Common Tern and 1 Fulmar.

The moth traps were quiet with only 11 individuals of 5 species including 1 Nutmeg, 1 Pine Beauty, 7 Cinnabar, 1 Muslin and 1 Flame Shoulder. Quiet also for butterflies with only 8 Wall Brown, 2 Small Copper and 1 Speckled Wood.
