The Garganey are back!! The morning was off to a good start with a drake Garganey found from the NOA car park hide. Later, a second drake joined the first bird, with both birds being visible either on the Broadwater or from the NOA/NWT car park hides. A Green Sandpiper was also seen from the NOA car park in the morning. There was also two Ruff and a Little Ringed Plover in the pools between the obs and Thornham Harbour. A Bittern was heard on the reserve and two Great White Egret and one Cattle Egret were also seen (with the cows off the main entrance track). A single Eider was on the sea.

In the moth traps today were 15 Hebrew Character, 2 Early Grey (below pic), 1 Shoulder Stripe, 2 Clouded Drab, 1 Small Quaker, 2 Diurnea fagella, 3 Dotted Border and 1 Dotted Chestnut. Before it turned overcast and cooler in the afternoon there was a Brimstone enjoying the morning sun around the obs. Lots of Common Toad activity now on the paths.
