A change in the wind direction today to more of a ESE wind, cold first thing but turned into a lovely sunny Spring day. At least 4 Chiffchaff singing today, along with Reed Bunting, Skylark, Cetti’s Warbler, Meadow Pipit and Linnet. Siskin and Redpoll were heard in the Pines this morning. There were 10 Avocet around, viewable from the car park hide and from the coastal public footpath in the pools past Gore Point. Eight Snow Bunting were also at Gore Point. There were 2 Snipe actively feeding in front of the car park hide and 3 Great White Egret were also seen. A Merlin was reported in the afternoon.
Only a single Hebrew Character was in the moth traps this morning.
