A beautiful sunny day at the Observatory today with a chilly wind. Quiet on the sea today with only 3 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Cormorant, 3 Grey Plover, 3 Eider, 1 Great Black-backed Gull and the usual Herring, Common and Black-headed Gulls drifting past. The falling tide was providing good feeding for various waders including Sanderling, Ringed Plover, Dunlin, Oystercatcher, Redshank, Bar-tailed Godwit and Curlew.

There are good numbers of Lapwing (130+) and Curlew (37 today) on the marsh, with lovely views of the Pink-footed and Brent Geese this morning lifting off the marsh.
