On the sea today 7 Eider, 3 Common Scoter, 3 Goldeneye, 4 Red-throated Divers, 17 Gannets and 6 Great Crested Grebes were recorded. Also of interest were 4 Snow Buntings (one pictured, by Seamus Griffin) on the beach, a Peregrine east, 2 Jack Snipe from the NWT hides, 2+ Bearded Tits, 3 Stonechats, a Rock Pipit and a stray Australian Shelduck was seen in Thornham Harbour. Seven Cattle Egrets were south of the sea wall near Thornham.
The moth traps were turned off for winter with Red-green Carpet, Rusty-dot Pearl, Large Yellow Underwing, Large Wainscot, Beaded Chestnut and Delicate the final species for the year.
