A windy start to the morning. A Kentish Plover was found this morning in amongst the Ringed Plover in the wader roost towards Thornham Channel. The bird continued to show well throughout the morning. Eight Shore Lark were also in the saltmarsh adjacent with a good number of Skylark and gave great views feeding and flying over the beach. A Short-eared Owl was in the dunes in the morning and the Jack Snipe was again seen on and off throughout the day from NWT hide 3.

In the moth traps today were 6 Large Yellow Underwing, 1 Large Wainscot, 1 Beaded Chestnut, 1 Shore Wainscot, 1 Black Rustic, 2 Narrow-winged Grey and 1 Blair’s Shoulder-knot. Migrant Hawker and Common Darter were still active on the reserve.
