Migrant Hawker Seamus Griffin

A clear bright day with most birds passing overhead. A Kingfisher was trapped and ringed, and a Red-necked Grebe was reported flying past NWT early afternoon. A group of 20+ Cattle Egrets was with cows near the sea wall towards Thornham and a Greenshank was in Thornham Channel. Also of interest were 3 Stonechats, 2 Bearded Tits, 2+ Swallows, and a Yellow-browed Warbler was reported in the pines early afternoon.

In the moth traps Large Yellow Underwing, Feathered Ranunculus, Beaded Chestnut, Large Wainscot and Black Rustic were caught. Wal Brown and Large White were on the wing, with Migrant Hawker and Common Darter also seen.
