Norfolk Ornithologists Association - NOA

A warm and pleasant sunny day with a light northerly wind. Two Spoonbills, a Great White Egret, 5 Red Kites, 12 Buzzards, 2 Water Rails, 14 Black-tailed Godwits, a Spotted Redshank, 2 Greenshanks, 11 Redshank, 2 Snipe, 12 Swallows, 60+ House Martins, 4 Cetti’s Warblers, 10 Chiffchaffs, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 2 Reed Warblers, a Whinchat, 7+ Stonechats and a Wheatear were noted. A Wryneck was reported in the dunes but could not be relocated.

In the moth traps a Silver Y, 18 Large Yellow Underwings, 5 Vine’s Rustics, a Brimstone, 6 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a Pine Hawk Moth, a Brown-spot Pinion, 2 Square-spot Rustics, a Black Rustic and a Flounced Rustic were caught.

Butterflies included 3 Walls, 2 Large Whites, 4 Peacocks, a Brown Argus, 2 Red Admirals, a Small White, 2 Commas, 2 Small Heaths and a Common Blue.
