On the sea today 2 Eider, 2 Common Scoter, 2 Red-throated Divers, 3 Fulmars, 2 Manx Shearwaters, 15 Gannets, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 6 Arctic Skuas and 9 Bonxies were recorded. Also of interest were 480+ Pink-feet, 4 Pintail, 2 Garganey, a Greenshank, 2 Kingfishers, a Green Woodpecker, Bearded Tit, 2 Cetti’s Warblers, 7 Chiffchaffs, a Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Common and Lesser Whitethroat and 3 Stonechats.

In the moth traps 6 Square-spot Rustics, 11 Large Yellow Underwings, a White Point, 2 Archer’s Darts, 2 Rush Veneers, a Vine’s Rustic, 9 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a Frosted Orange, 2 Small Square-spots, and a Dark Sword Grass were caught.

A good day for butterflies with 10 Large and 2 Small Whites, 3 Green-veined Whites, 2 Brown Argus, a Small Heath, Small Copper, 2 Speckled Woods, 2 Peacocks, a Comma, Common Blue, Wall Brown, 15 Red Admirals and a Painted Lady.

Two Willow Emerald Damselflies were also seen.
