Another spectacular day for migrants, with first a Wryneck and later a Red-flanked Bluetail turning up on the NWT reserve near Gore Point. The Icterine Warbler was present throughout the day showing at times, and a Yellow-browed Warbler was also seen in the Dell. A juvenile Honey Buzzard drifted south east over the marsh mid afternoon. Also of interest were 3 Brent Geese west, 13 Pintail, 3 Grey Herons in off the sea, 4 Spoonbills, 2 Water Rails, 7 Avocets east, 15 Golden Plover, 2 Whimbrel, a Ruff, 2 Common Sandpipers, a Green Sandpiper, 5 Greenshank, 3 Snipe, Kingfisher, 40 Swallows, 90+ House Martins, 25+ Chiffchaffs, 4 Willow Warblers, 6 Blackcaps, 25+ Garden Warblers, 8 Lesser Whitethroats, 5 Whitethroats, Reed Warbler, 5 Spotted Flycatchers, 2 Pied Flycatchers, 9 Redstarts, 1 Whinchat, 5 Stonechats, 12 Wheatears, and 2 Grey Wagtails.

In the moth traps a Green Carpet, Pale Eggar, 2 Centre-barred Sallows, 17 Large Yellow Underwings, 2 White Points, 2 Smoky Wainscots, 3 Common Wainscots, a Dark Sword-grass, 9 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 6 Small Square Spots, 4 Archer’s Darts, a Chinese Character, 2 Rosy Rustics, 2 Vine’s Rustics, 2 Willow Beauties, a Small Dusty Wave, a Flounced Rustic, Yellow Belle, Frosted Orange, 3 Square-spot Rustics, a Light Emerald, Turnip, Red Underwing, Large Wainscot and 2 Delicate moths were caught.
