Another exciting day at the obs with 10+ Redstart, 6+ Pied Flycatcher, 2 Whinchat, 2+ Spotted Flycatcher and an Icterine Warbler. In the morning, we trapped and ringed the Icterine Warbler. Other ringing highlights include Tawny Owl, Garden Warbler, Pied Flycatcher, Willow Warbler, Blackcap and Whitethroat. The Greenish Warbler has unfortunately not been seen again today. Other highlights of birds seen today include 2 Little Stint, 4 Spoonbill, 4 Garganey and a Kingfisher.

In the moth traps today were 12 Archer’s Dart, 6 Common Wainscot, 9 Agriphila geniculea, 2 Brimstone, 17 Setaceous Hebrew Character, 5 Vine’s Rustic, 28 Large Yellow Underwing, 8 Square-spot Rustic, 3 Straw Dot, 5  Small Square-spot, 5 White Point, 1 Rufous Stilt, 1 Green Carpet, 3 Eudonia angustea, 1 Riband Wave, 4 Flame Shoulder, 2 Rosy Rustic, 1 Diamond-back, 2 Flounced Rustic, 2 Agonopterix alstromeriana. 1 Eudonia pallida, 1 Latticed Heath, 3 Frosted Orange, 2 Cabbage, 1 Lesser Yellow Underwing, 1 Burnished Brass, 1 Pyrausta despicata, 1 Orange Swift, 1 Acleris variegana, 1 Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing and 1 Anania crocealis.
