Highlights today were a Pintail and a Garganey on the Broadwater, 13 Spoonbills, 1 Whimbrel, 2 Common Sandpipers, a Green Sandpiper, Spotted Redshank, Greenshank, 6 Snipe, a Kingfisher, 2 Hobbies, 2 Bearded Tits, 20 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, 4 Whitethroats, a Sedge and 2 Reed Warblers, 14 Stonechats, 2 Wheatears, 12 Yellow Wagtails and a Tree Pipit.
In the moth traps a Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, Dusky Thorn, Yellow Belle, 22 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 9 Large Yellow Underwings, a Dark Spectacle, 11 Archer’s Darts, 10 Flame Shoulders, 4 Small Square-spot, Flounced Rustic, 2 White Points, 2 Drinkers, 2 Common Wainscots, a Pale Eggar, 4 Smoky Wainscots, a Brimstone, 2 Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 2 Willow Beauties, 2 Chinese Characters, 2 Light Emeralds, 3 Vine’s Rustics, a Frosted Orange, a Lime-speck Pug, Square-spot Rustic, a Mouse Moth, 2 Green Carpets, a White-line Dart, Ruby Tiger and a Turnip were caught.
Butterflies included Brown Argus, Small Copper, Common Blue, Speckled Wood and Red Admiral.
