Norfolk Ornithologists Association - NOA

A quiet day for birds with no further sign of the White-rumped Sandpiper. 14 Spoonbills, a Greenshank, 2 Common Sandpipers, a Green Sandpiper and 4 Snipe were recorded on the scrapes and a Green Woodpecker was in the village.

In the moth traps today 3 Flounced Rustics, 2 Common Wainscots, a Ruby Tiger, 2 Vine’s Rustics, a Nutmeg, a Spectacle, Large Yellow Underwing, 3 Archer’s Darts, 3 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a Double Lobed, a Small Square Spot, a Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, and a Flame Shoulder were caught.

Southern and Migrant Hawker, Common and Ruddy Darter were seen along with Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock, Red Admiral, Wall, Small White, Gatekeeper, Common Blue, Brown Argus and Green-veined White all on the wing during the afternoon.
