The White-rumped Sandpiper was showing again during the morning from the first NWT hide (photographed by Seamus Griffin), with a Dunlin, 3 Common Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, a Greenshank, 15 Redshank, 11 Snipe and 8 Black-tailed Godwits also noted. On the sea 6 Great Crested Grebes were counted and a juvenile Water Rail was seen from the car park hide. Thirteen Whimbrel flew over and a family of 6+ Stonechats were also near the car parks.
In the moth traps today a Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, Orange Swift, Small Square Spot, 3 Common Wainscots, a Square-spot Rustic, 4 Large Yellow Underwings, 9 Archer’s Darts, a Smoky Wainscot, a Yellow Belle, a Sharp-angled Peacock, Silver Y, 4 Flame Shoulders, 4 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, Shuttle-shaped Dart, 2 Flounced Rustics, a Rush Veneer, Green Carpet, 2 Straw Dots, a Small Waved Umber, a Pale Eggar and a White-spotted Pug were caught.
