On the sea today a single Common Scoter, 2 Fulmars and over 100 Sandwich Terns were counted, with a Peregrine flying along the beach. At least 9 Spoonbills were recorded today with a Black-tailed Godwit also of interest.
Moth traps produced a superb Poplar Hawk Moth with Purple Bar, 3 Tree Lichen Beauties, 2 Yellow Tails, 2 Ferns, 2 Large Yellow Underwings, 3 Flame Shoulders, a Brimstone, 14 Archer’s Darts, 2 Dingy Footmen, 2 Vine’s Rustics, a Common Carpet, 5 Scarce Footmen, a Dwarf Cream Wave, 2 Single Dotted Waves, 2 Small Waved Umbers, a Cloaked Minor, a White-line Dart, 3 Flounced Rustics, a Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, Smoky Wainscot, Orange Swift, Sharp-angled Peacock, 2 Drinkers, a Lime-speck Pug, Green Carpet, 3 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 2 Straw Underwings, a Southern Wainscot, Common Wainscot, Small Square Spot, and a Turnip.
Another Small Red-eyed Damselfly was seen on the pond and the Wasp Spider was also present.
