Six Spoonbills were on the Broadwater today with 3 Great White Egrets, a Green Sandpiper, 27 Snipe, 46 Lapwings and 11 Curlew also noted. A Tawny Owl was seen near the Obs and a Cetti’s Warbler was heard near the ringing lab.

Moths included 2 Sharp-angled Peacocks, 4 Scarce Footmen, a Yellow-tail, 2 Vine’s Rustics, a Purple Bar, 2 Rosy Rustics, 2 Drinkers, 2 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 3 Green Carpets, 5 Large Yellow Underwings, a Small Blood-vein, 11 Archer’s Darts, 4 Flame Shoulders, 4 Flounced Rustics, 6 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 2 Dingy Footmen, a Ruby Tiger, a Latticed Heath, Gold Spot, Yellow Belle, Coronet, Smoky Wainscot, Square-spot Rustic, Pinion-streaked Snout, Dark Arches, 2 Straw Underwings, a Turnip, 3 Single Dotted Waves, a Straw Dot and 3 Common Wainscots.

Southern and Migrant Hawker, Ruddy and Common Darter were on the wing and Brown Argus, Common Blue, Speckled Wood, Wall and Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper and Red Admiral were all recorded.
