Pinion-streaked Snout

An Osprey was seen flying over Thornham heading along the shore towards Holme. Spoonbills increased to 13 today with 3 Great White Egrets, a Golden Plover, 83 Lapwings, 11 Black-tailed Godwits, 13 Redshank and a Snipe also of note.

In the moth traps highlights were a Swallow Prominent, 4 Dingy Footmen, 2 Sharp-angled Peacocks, 2 Cloaked Minors, 12 Archer’s Darts, a Common Wainscot, 5 Large Yellow Underwings, a Small Wainscot, 2 Straw Underwings, 4 Flame Shoulders, 4 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a White Point, a Brimstone, 3 Ferns, 4 Green Carpets, a Drinker, 4 Scarce Footmen, 6 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 3 Flounced Rustics, a Garden Tiger, a Pretty Chalk Carpet, 2 Yellow Tails, a Lime-speck Pug, a Small Waved Umber, Straw Dot, 2 White-line Darts, a Vine’s Rustic, a Small Square Spot, a Rosy Minor, a Tree-lichen Beauty, a Coronet, a Canary Shouldered Thorn, a Yellow Belle, Rosy Rustic, Pinion-streaked Snout, Currant Pug and a Common Wave were caught.

A female Southern Hawker was also in the moth trap!
