Norfolk Ornithologists Association - NOA

On the sea today 13 Common Scoters, a Red-throated Diver, 9 Fulmars, 2 Gannets, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Arctic Skuas, 11 Little Terns, 176 Sandwich Terns, and 89 Common Terns were noted. A Little Stint was reported on the shore and 6 Whimbrel, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, Common Sandpiper, Greenshank, Cetti’s Warbler, a juvenile Willow Warbler and 8 Stonechats were also noted.

In the moth traps 6 Scarce Footmen, a White Satin Moth, 3 Flame Shoulders, 2 Silver Ys, a Straw Dot, Yellow Tail, 4 Garden Tigers, 4 Rustics, 2 Common Rustics, a Dingy Footman, 3 Dusky Sallows, 2 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, an Archer’s Dart, 2 Large Yellow Underwings, a Coronet, a Ruby Tiger, 2 Shuttle-shaped Darts, a Flounced Rustic, Common Carpet and Lesser Yellow Underwings.

Butterflies included 20 Meadow Browns, 2 Speckled Woods, 30 Walls, 15 Gatekeepers, 3 Small Skipper sp, 10 Common Blues, 3 Brown Argus, 2 Large Whites and 3 Peacocks.
