On the sea today 50+ Gannets, 5 Arctic Skuas, 7 Common Scoter, 100+ Sandwich and 100+ Common Terns and 5 Little Terns were counted. On the Broadwater 9 Spoonbills and a Great White Egret were still present, with 2 Red Kites drifting low over the Obs.
Another busy morning for moths, highlights included an Elephant and a Pine Hawk Moth, 42 Ruby Tigers, a Least Carpet, 4 Common Footmen, 7 Rustics, 4 Dingy Footmen, 4 Yellow Tails, a Dusky Sallow, 2 Drinkers, 2 Common Rustics, an Uncertain, 2 Shaded Broad-bars, 7 Scarce Footmen, 2 Dwarf Cream Waves, a Small Waved Umber, 6 Brown Tails, a Dark Arches, a Lyme Grass, Silky Wainscot, Fen Wainscot, Riband Wave, 4 Garden Tigers, a Rosy Footman, Round-winged Muslin, Southern Wainscot, a Single Dotted Wave, Large Yellow Underwing, Smoky Wainscot, Cloaked Minor and Small Scallop.
Wall Brown, Common Blue, Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper, Small Heath, Peacock and Small Skipper were recorded, with Black-tailed Skimmer, Emperor and Ruddy Darter dragonflies also noted.
