Spoonbill

An overcast mild day at the obs today. Quiet bird wise, however a Spoonbill was still hanging around on the Broad Water. There were also good views of Common and Little Tern fishing in the Broad Water.

A busier day for moths with 32 species, including Sand Dart, Eyed Hawk Moth, Yellow Belle, Cinnabar, Sharp Angled Peacock, Straw Dot, White Ermine, Spectacle, Marbled Minor agg,  Mottled Rustic, Common Wainscot, Dog’s Tooth, Pebble Prominent, Small Square Spot, Light Brown Apple, Willow Beauty, Pretty Chalk Carpet, Green Carpet, Setaceous Hebrew Character, , Haworth’s Pug, Freyer’s Pug, Bordered White, Notocelia cynosbatella, Crambus lathoniellus, Scoparia ambigulalis, Isotrias rectifasciana and Cochylis atricapitana.

Speckled Wood, Wall Brown, Brown Argus, Common Blue and Green Hairstreak were all on the wing today.
