A lovely sunny day at the obs today with a lingering brisk northerly wind. A Spoonbill was seen over the Broad Water, and up to 11 Little Tern were active on the reserve with a few fishing in the Broad Water.
In the moth traps today were 6 Cinnabar, 2 Large Yellow Underwing, 1 Small Square Spot, 3 Silver Y, 3 White Ermine, 4 Small Elephant Hawk, 1 Fern, 1 Flame Shoulder, 1 Setaceous Hebrew Character, 1 Flame, 1 Treble Lines, 1 Common Wainscott, 1 Marbled Minor agg., Mompha subbistrigella, Blastobasis lacticolella and Scrobipalpa acuminatella.
Small Copper, Brown Argus, Common Blue, Green Haistreak, Brimstone, Speckled Wood and Small Heath were all the wing. Broad Bodied Chaser, Large Red, Azure and Blue Tailed damselflies were active over the pond today.
