Spoonbill and Great White Egret Seamus Griffin 30th May 24

A Great White Egret and a Spoonbill were seen from the car park hide, 2 Little Terns and 2 Common Terns were seen over the Broadwater, a passage of 85+ Swifts, 60 House Martins and 40 Swallows was noted during the light rain, and 5 Stonechats were around the east bank.

In the moth traps a Light Emerald, 5 Bordered Whites, a Pine Hawk Moth, 5 Cinnabars, 14 White Ermines, 2 Common Marbled Carpets, a Shuttle-shaped Dart, 2 Ferns, 2 Small Square-spots, 6 Treble Lines, a Flame, 2 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a Small Elephant Hawk Moth, a Vine’s Rustic, a Coronet, 2 Lunar Yellow Underwings, a Muslin, a Tawny Marbled Minor, 2 Marbled Minor sp, an Angle Shades, Swallow Prominent, 2 Flame Shoulders, 2 Turnips, a Mottled Rustic, a Rustic Shoulder-knot, a Heart & Dart, a Large Yellow Underwing and a Smoky Wainscot were recorded.
