Highlights today were a drake Garganey and a Wood Sandpiper at Thornham, a Great White Egret, Little Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, Cuckoo, 17 Swallows and 12 House Martins.
In the moth traps 2 Cinnabars, a Silver Y, 2 Pine Beauties, 2 Waved Umbers, a Common Carpet, Fren, Brown Rustic, Bordered White, Small Elephant Hawk, 3 White Ermines, a Flame Shoulder and a Yellow Shell were caught.
Three Green Hairstreaks, 4 Peacocks, 12 Wall Browns, 2 Small Coppers, a Large White and a Speckled Wood were the butterflies recorded, with a pair of Broad-bodied Chasers still on the pond.
