A beautiful sunny day but quiet, a Grasshopper Warbler was heard briefly and 2 Yellow Wagtails flew over calling. Six Sandwich Terns were passing offshore and a Cuckoo, 3 Sand Martins, 6 Swallows, 12 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps. 4 Lesser Whitethroats, 3 Whitethroats, 10 Sedge and 2 Reed Warblers were counted.

In the moth traps 5 Cinnabars, 3 Shuttle-shaped Darts, 2 Pine Beauties, a Garden Pebble, 2 Muslins, 12 Flame Shoulders, Waved Umber, 2 Brimstone, Small Waved Umber, 3 Northern Drab, a Rivulet, 2 Swallow Prominent, 2 Latticed Heath, a Chocolate Tip, Barred Red, Treble Lines, Green Carpet, Garden Carpet and Common Pug were caught. Four Green Long-horns were on the sycamores and both Four-spotted Chaser and Hairy Hawker were around the pond, with Holly Blue, Green Hairstreak, Wall Brown and Orange Tip also seen.
