Norfolk Ornithologists Association - NOA

A quiet day both for ringing and sightings at the obs today after a foggy start this morning. Two new Lesser Whitethroats were ringed today. Two Common Terns were on the Broad Water, and a Sandwich Tern was seen flying over the obs. The drake Garganey was still on the pool by Thornham harbour.

A busy day in the moth traps today with 1 Knot Grass, 4 Cinnabar, 5 Green Carpet, 3 Muslin, 1 Treble Lines, 5 Flame Shoulder, 5 Pine Beauty, 1 Brimstone, 2 Powdered Quaker, 1 Common Quaker, 2 Light Brown Apple Moth, 1 Least Black Arches, 1 Waved Umber, 1 Grey Pine Carpet, 1 Cochylichroa atricapitana and 1 Eudonia angustea. A quiet day for butterflies with only 2 Wall Brown seen.
