Whinchat

Another day of strong north winds, but at least 3 Ring Ouzels were still present in the dunes on the NWT reserve, and a pair of Goosander flew north over the pines, while at Thornham Harbour 2 Whimbrel, 18 Black-tailed Godwits and a Whinchat were noted. Also of interest were a Lesser Whitethroat, 6 Blackcaps, 6 Sedge Warblers, a Reed Warbler and 2 Stonechats, with a passage of Swallows noted during the afternoon numbering 10+ passing west.

A single Muslin moth was in the traps, and a few butterflies were on the wing with Orange Tip, a Small White and a Speckled Wood recorded.
