Another day of dramatic migration. The Arctic Warbler was not found again but 3 Yellow-browed Warblers were in the recording area with one showing and calling throughout the day in the sycamores opposite the Observatory. Also of interest were 9 Eider, 450 Common Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 3 Red-throated Divers, a Manx Shearwater, 115 Gannets, 4 Arctic Skuas, 18 Razorbills, 2 Black Terns and 16 Sandwich Terns at sea, while a ring-tail Hen Harrier, Greenshank, 250+ Goldcrests, 17 Bearded Tits, 30 Long-tailed Tits, 6 Chiffchaffs, 4 Blackcaps, a Yellow Wagtail, 100+ Meadow Pipits, 20 Bramblings, 40 Chaffinches, 65 Siskins and a Crossbill were noted, and at least 8 Cattle Egrets were still in with the herd on the grazing marsh.

In the moth traps there were 6 Feathered Ranunculus, a Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, 14 Lunar Underwings, a Saure Spot Rustic, 10 Large Yellow Underwings, 9 Large Wainscots, a Red-line Quaker, Red-green Carpet, Least Carpet, Black Rustic, 2 Beaded Chestnuts and a Clancy’s Rustic.
