On the sea today a drake Scaup was among a party of 323 Common Scoter with 46 Gannets, 8 Great Crested Grebes, Razorbill, Guillemot, 16 Sandwich Terns, a Common Tern and 5 Little Gulls also noted. Two Water Rails were calling from the reeds.
In the moth traps today 5 Large Yellow Underwings, 39 Lunar Underwings, 2 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 4 Square-spot Rustics, a Black Rustic, 2 Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, a Shuttle-shaped Dart, Turnip, and a White-line Dart were caught. Common Blue, Wall Brown and Small Copper butterflies were also noted.
