Highlights today were 7 Manx Shearwaters, 307 Common Scoter, 3 Red-throated Divers, 100 Gannets, a Great Crested Grebe, single Arctic Skua, 12 Sandwich Terns and 8 Little Gulls seen at sea. Also of interest were a Green Sandpiper, 4 Snipe, a Short-eared Owl, Kingfisher, Bearded Tit, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Lesser Whitethroat, Whinchat, 9 Stonechats, Yellow and Grey Wagtails, 3 Siskins and 2 Ravens.
In the moth traps today were 38 Large Yellow Underwings, 2 Common Wainscots, 11 Eudonia angustea, 31 Lunar Underwings, 2 Turnips, 6 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a Black Rustic, 2 Square-spot Rustics, 2 Willow Beauties, a Vine’s Rustic, 2 Deep-brown Darts, 3 Large Wainscots, a Delicate and a Beaded Chestnut.
