Cattle Egret Gary Elton
Highlights today were two Cattle Egrets in front of the Car Park hide, a Common and 3 Green Sandpipers around the Broadwater and NWT pools, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, a Hobby hunting over the grazing marsh, 650+ Swallows, 2 Kingfishers, a Wheatear and 3 Grey Wagtails over calling.
A Wasp Spider was still at the pond, and in the moth traps a Flame Shoulder, 13 Vine’s Rustics, 2 Pale Mottled Willows, 3 Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 11 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 18 Archer’s Darts, 35 Square-spot Rustics, 32 Large Yellow Underwings, 4 Turnips, 2 Small Square Spots, 3 White-line Darts, 2 Common Wainscots, a Feathered Gothic, 3 Willow Beauties, a Yellow Belle, Riband Wave, 2 Flounced Rustics, a Smoky Wainscot, a Green Carpet, Snout, Lesser Yellow Underwing and a Dark Sword-grass were caught.
