Highlights today were 9 Wigeon, 25 Teal, 50 Common Scoter on the sea, together with 7 Gannets, a Great Crested Grebe, 6 Razorbills, 13 Sandwich and 3 Common Terns. Three Little Stints were still on the NWT pools, with 45 Curlew, 40 Lapwing, 816 Oystercatchers, 3 Black-tailed Godwits and a Common Sandpiper also counted during the day. Pink-footed Geese were heard but not seen, with 13 birds coming in yesterday.
In the moth traps 21 Vine’s Rustics, 21 Archer’s Darts, 9 White-line Darts, 3 Flounced Rustics, 45 Large Yellow Underwings, 13 Square Spot Rustics, 3 White Points, a Delicate, Flame Shoulder, 2 Smoky Wainscots, 3 Turnips, a Willow Beauty, a Six-striped Rustic, Dingy Footman, Pinion-streaked Snout, 2 Small Square Spots, a Common Wainscot, Green Carpet, Snout and a Gold Spot were caught.
A Small Copper was on the Buddleia.
