Highlights today were a Wryneck in the Forestry on the NWT reserve, on the sea a Sabine’s Gull flew west off Gore Point, and 4 Common Scoter, 29 Gannets, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Arctic Skuas, a Black Tern east, 34 Sandwich and 15 Common Terns were recorded. Waders included 5 Whimbrel, 18 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Little Stints, 2 Common Sandpipers, a Green Sandpiper, Greenshank, 2 Wood Sandpipers and 5 Snipe. Also of interest were 6 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps, 4 Lesser Whitethroats, 12 Whitethroats, 14 Stonechats, a Wheatear and 2 Yellow Wagtails.

An excellent catch of moths included a Common Carpet, 2 Drinkers, 42 Turnips, 3 White Points, 18 Flounced Rustics, 3 Nutmegs, 30 Smoky Wainscots, 2 Willow Beauties, a Silky Wainscot, 57 Archer’s Darts, 34 White-lined Darts, 51 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 22 Common Wainscots, 40 Large Yellow Underwings, a Crescent, 36 Vine’s Rustics, 5 Ferns, a Rusty Dot Pearl, 6 Square Spot Rustics, a Dingy Footman, a Blood Vein, 4 Single Dotted Waves, a Purple Bar, 4 Cloaked Minors, 8 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 5 Shuttle-shaped Darts, 3 Sharp-angled Peacocks, 2 Yellow Tails, 3 Straw Underwings, a Scorched Carpet, a Rosy Rustic, 2 Frosted Oranges, 2 Flame Shoulders, a Brown-veined Wainscot, Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, Scarce Footman, Small Square Spot, Webb’s Wainscot, Pinion-streaked Snout and Common Wave.
