Highlights today were 2 Garganey on the NWT pools, offshore a Gannet, Arctic Skua, 2 Little Terns, 150 Sandwich Terns and 350 Common Terns were counted, while around the fresh marshes a Water Rail, 3 Avocets, 26 Curlew, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, a Common Sandpiper, 2 Green Sandpipers, a Kingfisher, 2 Yellow Wagtils, a Bearded Tit and a Raven were recorded. Around the reserve a Grasshopper Warbler and Lesser Whitethroat were noted.

In the moth traps a Single Dotted Wave, 3 Scarce Footmen, 6 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 2 Flame Shoulders, 3 Rustics, 5 Archer’s Darts, 7 Shuttle-shaped Darts, a Common Rustic, 3 Garden Tigers, a Sallow Kitten, a Lime-speck Pug, a Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, a Cloaked Minor, 4 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a White-line Dart, 4 Large Yellow Underwings, 2 Flounced Rustics, 3 Turnips, 2 Nutmegs, a White Point, a Straw Underwing, 2 Ruby Tigers, a Common Wainscot and a Lychnis.

A Willow Emerald Damselfly was at the pond.
