Highlights today were a Great White Egret, 3 Spoonbills, 604 Oystercatchers, 70 Golden Plover, 68 Lapwings, a Whimbrel, 81 Curlew, 86 Black-tailed Godwits, 67 Bar-tailed Godwits, 40 Dunlin, a Common and 2 Green Sandpipers, an Arctic Skua, 19 Little Terns and 24 Sandwich Terns, 5+ Lesser Whitethroats, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, and 5 Stonechats.
In the moth traps today, a Bulrush Wainscot (pictured), 12 Scarce Footmen, a Blood-vein, 2 Garden Tigers, a Common Footman, 3 Least Carpets, 5 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 8 Rustics, a Yellow Shell, Small Blood-vein, Small Waved Umber, 2 Cloaked Minors, 2 Large Yellow Underwings, a Nutmeg, Common Rustic, Brimstone, Straw Underwing, Dingy Footman, Swallow Prominent, 2 Archer’s Darts, Setaceous Hebrew Character, 2 Sharp-angled Peacocks, 3 Drinkers, a Garden Pebble, Flame Shoulder, Flounced Rustic, Shuttle-shaped Dart, Turnip, Knot Grass, Lime-speck Pug and Single Dotted Wave were caught.
Butterflies included 3 Brimstones, 12 Red Admirals, 23 Peacocks, 13 Gatekeepers, 7 Walls, a Brown Argus, a Small Copper, and 2 Holly Blues.
