Birds on and around the reserve today included a single Spoonbill on the Broadwater and a Great Spotted Woodpecker in the Pines. On the sea, a half hour watch produced 115 Sandwich, 8 Common and 3 Little Terns, all heading west into the Wash, with 14 Common Scoter and 4 Gannets also noted. On the beach there was  a leucistic Bar-tailed Godwit found feeding ironically amongst the Black-headed Gulls (pictured). The moth traps produced 48 species, which included 8 Garden Tigers, 10 Ruby Tigers,  3 Mouse Moths, 2 Straw Underwings, Dusky sallow, Nut-tree Tussock and Copper Underwing.
