A stormy day with heavy rain at lunch time. Highlights were few but included a Whimbrel, 5 Black-tailed Godwits, a Spoonbill on the Broadwater, 2 Med Gulls, 2 juvenile Green Woodpeckers in the pines and a light passage of Swallows and hirundines during the afternoon, and a pair of Stonechats along the east bank.

The rough weather affected the moth catch with 6 Scarce Footmen, a Brown-line Bright-eye, 3 Common Rustics, a Dingy Footman, 2 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, a Yellow-tail, 2 Dark Arches, a Small Emerald, 3 Large Yellow Underwings, a Least Yellow Underwing, 2 Rustics, a Clay, an Uncertain and a Rosy Footman.

Many butterflies were still on the wing with Common Blue, Small Copper and Gatekeeper all noted. Two Ruddy Darters were at the Obs pond.
